Part Five: Gongyuanfu Massage Exercise - Eighteen Forms

Simple and easy to learn in a short time

It can achieve unexpected results

People who want to be healthy need to practice.

People who are sick should exercise more.

Those who cultivate themselves should practice even more.

  Key points of practice:

    Paying homage to bestow blessings: Stand with feet flat on the ground, relaxed and natural, hands clasped in prayer, for complete blessings!

    Starting posture: With a calm and peaceful mind, gently rub your palms together in front of your face, alternating between up and down. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

    1. Face rubbing: Overlap your palms with the left hand on top of the right hand and rub in circles from the left side of your face upwards, across the glabella, down to the right side of your face. Repeat this for two sets of eight counts. Then switch hands (overlap the right hand with the left hand on top of the right hand) and rub in circles from the right side of your face downwards, across the glabella, down to the left side of your face. Repeat this for two sets of eight counts.

    2. Eye protection: Place both palms over the eyes, apply pressure to the Laogong acupoints (located on the palms of the hands), and keep the eyes open at the same time. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

    3. Massage the eye circles: Make fists with both hands and use the knuckles of your thumbs to circle around your eyes, from left to right and from top to bottom, doing one hand and one eye at the same time. Then reverse the direction and circle around your eyes from right to left, repeating two sets of eight counts on each side.

     4. Probing the nose: Place both thumbs on either side of the tip of the nose and massage up and down, once up and once down. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

     5. Pressing the Yingxiang acupoint and the root of the nose: Interlock your fingers with both hands and press the Yingxiang acupoints on both sides with your two thumbs, while pressing the index and middle fingers of the back of your hands on the root of the nose. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

     6. Jingming acupoint: Interlock your fingers and press the Jingming acupoint upwards with the pads of your two thumbs. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

     7. Yuyao acupoint: Interlace your fingers and gently press the Yuyao acupoint (between the eyebrows) with the knuckles of your thumbs. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

     8. Close your mouth and tap your teeth together: Close your mouth and tap your teeth together. Four sets of eight counts.

     9. Gargling: Place both hands, palms facing each other, on the lower abdomen (Dantian), thumbs touching. Close your mouth and use your tongue to move up, down, left, and right, slowly swallowing the saliva produced during gargling. Four sets of eight counts.

     10. Pressing the Ears: Place the Laogong points of both hands on the hollow center of both ears and press firmly for one set of eight counts. Then release the hands and repeat the pressing and releasing motion to allow the Qi to circulate. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

     11. Knocking the Heavenly Drum: Gently place the Laogong points of both hands on the ears and tap the back of the head with the ten fingers. Four sets of eight counts.

     12. Combing your hair: Use your right hand to comb upwards from the acupoints opposite the left temple and the corner of the eye, passing the Baihui acupoint and then downwards to the right to the back of the head, then down to the front of the neck. Switch to your left hand and comb from the right side downwards to the left and back. Repeat this for one count on each side, for four sets of eight counts.

     13. Chest Breathing Exercise: Contract the anus and abdomen, and while relaxing, use your fingertips to gently brush down the liver and gallbladder meridians to the abdomen. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

     14. Kidney area: Place both palms on the kidney area and rub them up and down to generate heat. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

     15. Apply heat to the kidneys: Place the Laogong acupoints of both hands on the kidney area and apply heat. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.

     16. Following the direction of movement: With the right palm, trace the Yang meridian of the hand from the left shoulder acupoint, then follow the Yin meridian. Repeat with the left hand, following the Yang meridian of the right hand, then the Yin meridian. Perform four sets of eight counts on each side.

     17. Knee Massage: Simultaneously massage both knee joints in a circular motion with both palms, from left to right and down, then reverse direction and massage to the left. Repeat four sets of eight counts for each direction.

     18. Following the Yin and Yang Meridians of the Feet: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent. As you bend over, use both palms to brush down the Yang meridians on the outer sides of your feet. Straighten up and then brush down the Yin meridians on the inner sides. Use your left hand to brush down your left foot and your right hand to brush down your right foot, simultaneously guiding the Qi downwards. Repeat for four sets of eight counts.
